Who Can Use Hospice Services? 

The State Health Department, Medicare and The Board of Directors of Cross Timbers determine what criteria must be met for a family to be admitted to Hospice care. 

The patient must be living in on of the following Counties: Carter; Jefferson; Johnston; Love; Murray; or Marshall. 
 

The professional staff of Cross Timbers Hospice can  provide the following services when needed by patients and families.
  • In-home skilled nursing and medical oversight
  • Medication for terminal illness
    Medical supplies and equipment
    Social work
  • Chaplain and spiritual care
  • Hospice Health Aides Volunteers
  • Professional counseling
  • Home Maker services
     
  • Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy
  • Ambulance service when approved by Hospice
  • Dietary counseling Laboratory work related to terminal Illness
  • Bereavement services for 13 months or longer after Patient's death Library Website - Email
The patient must be under the care of a licensed Physician who confirms a terminal prognosis with a life expectancy of six months or less and will participate in establishing and implementing the patient care plan. An adult primary caregiver must be available to the home to coordinate the patient's care and daily living activities. 

The home environment must be properly managed and safe for both the patient and visiting hospice staff. Admission shall not be refused nor services discontinued because of inability to pay.
